FAQs

Most of our West Maui snorkeling tours depart from either Lahaina Harbor or directly from the sands of Ka’anapali Beach via beach-loading catamarans. Since we partner with multiple premier tour operators, your specific check-in location will be clearly noted on your booking confirmation. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early to secure parking.
-
Yes! All snorkeling excursions booked through Lahaina Activities include high-quality sanitized masks, snorkels, and fins. Many of our partners also provide flotation aids like “noodles,” buoyant vests, and even optical masks for those who wear glasses.
-
West Maui is home to some of Hawaii’s most iconic reefs. Popular destinations for our boat tours include:
-
Honolua Bay: A Marine Life Conservation District known for its vibrant coral and frequent turtle sightings.
-
Olowalu (Coral Gardens): Home to some of the oldest coral heads in Hawaii and a “cleaning station” for sea turtles.
-
Maluaka Beach (Turtle Town): Famous for its high concentration of Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (Honu).
-
Lanai: Many of our Lahaina-based departures cross the channel to the private island of Lanai for secluded snorkeling in crystal-clear water.
-
-
While Molokini is located off the south coast, we do offer select tours that depart from Lahaina or Maalaea Harbor (a short drive south) to visit the crater. If you are staying in West Maui, a trip to Honolua Bay or Lanai often provides a similar high-quality experience with less travel time.
-
Basic swimming ability is required for safety. However, you don’t need to be an expert. Our tour partners provide flotation devices and professional instruction for beginners. If you are a non-swimmer, we recommend our Glass Bottom Boat or Submarine tours so you can still enjoy the reef without entering the water.
-
We recommend bringing a towel, a swimsuit (worn under your clothes), a light jacket (mornings can be breezy), and a hat. Please use only reef-safe, mineral-based sunscreen to protect Maui’s delicate coral ecosystems. Most tours provide lunch or snacks, but check your specific tour details for meal inclusions.
